Selective laser sintering (SLS)
This is an additive layer-building process based on powder. The material is distributed in a thin layer on the build platform with a scraper or roller and heated to just below its melting point. Using the CAD data, a scanner determines the coordinates of the component so that the laser can melt the powder at these points in short pulses. Then the build platform lowers by exactly one layer thickness and the process is repeated until the 3D object is complete.
